Training Classes

Training classes—The time employees spend attending lectures, meetings, and training programs is compensable.  However, there is an exception, which makes the time spent ineligible for compensation.  The exception occurs when all of the following conditions are in effect:  attendance to the training is not within the employee’s regular working hours; attendance to the training is voluntary; the training is not directly related to the employee’s job; the employee does not perform any productive work while attending the activity.
